About Sean
Sean Reilly is an attorney who practices in Virginia. He arrived at law after a period working in the private sector. The shift into law came after more than a decade away from the classroom and brought earlier practical experience into his legal career.
He earned a Bachelor of Science from Grove City College in 2001. Fifteen years later he completed a J.D. at Regent University in 2016. The later law degree followed hands-on work in commercial real estate and preceded a sequence of legal internships and clerkships.
Before law school he worked as a commercial real estate broker for Madsen Real Estate Group in 2011. That role exposed him to property transactions, contracts and the business side of real estate. It also led to ongoing ties with the real estate community in Hampton Roads.
While in law school he gained courtroom and firm experience. In 2014 he served as a judicial intern for the Virginia Court of Appeals. The next year he worked as a clerk at Hirschler Fleischer, P.C., assisting attorneys with research and case preparation. Those positions gave him exposure to appellate procedure and firm practice before he entered private practice.
After receiving his law degree he joined Hanger Law as a lawyer in 2016. He holds membership in the Virginia State Bar and is listed with national and state bar organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Virginia Bar Association, all beginning in 2016. He also maintains an affiliate role with the Hampton Roads Realtor Association since 2018, reflecting his earlier work in commercial real estate.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in approach. He brings transactional knowledge from his broker days into legal matters that touch property and contracts. At Hanger Law he has handled client work that arises under Virginia law and he remains based in the state.
He continues to practice at Hanger Law in Virginia and concentrates on real estate and related legal matters in the state.
