About Erin Nicole

Erin Nicole Schiffman earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studied business and marketing. She later returned to Maryland to earn her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. The combination of a business background and legal training shaped an approach that values clear communication and careful case preparation.

Her legal practice spans both state and federal systems. She is admitted in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland. She also holds admissions to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and to several federal trial courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Those credentials have allowed her to handle filings and hearings in multiple venues and to work on matters that cross state lines.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and attentive in client conversations. Her undergraduate training in marketing informs how she frames factual narratives and communicates complex information. She approaches each matter by outlining the issues early and identifying the documents and testimony needed to support a case. She has experience drafting pleadings, handling discovery and representing clients at hearings.

Schiffman practices at Vasseghi Law Group. In that setting she works on matters that require both litigation skills and an understanding of procedural nuances in federal and state courts. She collaborates with other attorneys in the firm on case strategy and participates in client meetings and court appearances. She also manages the practical aspects of case files and coordinates with opposing counsel on scheduling and pleadings.

Outside of court, she has focused on refining client intake and communication processes to ensure clients understand next steps and timelines. She maintains an active role in the preparation of briefs and in the logistical work that keeps a case moving forward. She focuses her practice on litigation in state and federal courts across Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
