About Kahlil O.
Kahlil O. Perine earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2019, after beginning his legal studies in 2016. He completed a traditional three-year law program and graduated into a legal market that was rapidly changing. Law school shaped his approach to research and writing. It also provided sustained exposure to courses in procedure, advocacy and professional responsibility.
After law school Mr. Perine established a practice in Virginia. He is admitted to practice in that jurisdiction and has spent the years since graduation building a general practice that serves individuals and businesses in state matters. His work has required routine appearances in Virginia courts and regular interaction with judges, clerks and opposing counsel. He handles pretrial preparation, motion practice, client counseling and transactional drafting as part of day-to-day responsibilities.
Perine’s practice rests on a foundation of courtroom preparation and client communication. He prepares pleadings, conducts discovery and engages in settlement discussions when appropriate. He places explicit emphasis on clear written work and practical legal advice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparations and attentive in client interviews.
He also attends continuing legal education programs to stay current on changes in Virginia law. That ongoing learning informs how he approaches statutory interpretation and procedural strategy. He has refined systems for managing caseloads and deadlines, and those systems are central to how he serves clients and coordinates matters across multiple files.
As of 2026 Perine maintains an active practice in Virginia that centers on representing clients in state courts and advising on state-law matters. He continues to work directly with clients and other legal professionals to manage litigation and transactional tasks within the Commonwealth.
