About Scott Eugene

Scott Eugene Scioli combines a scientific background and a law degree to build a practice centered on intellectual property. He began his formal education in the mid-1970s at Michigan State University, studying microbiology and public health. He stayed at Michigan State to earn a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition in 1979, then completed an M.S. in Food Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska 6Lincoln in 1980. Two decades later he returned to school for a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law 6Camden, which he received in 2001.

His legal career started the same year he finished law school. In 2001 he joined Woodcock Washburn LLP as an associate lawyer and scientific advisor. That role married his laboratory training with the demands of patent practice. He moved to Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP as an associate in 2006, where he continued work on intellectual property matters. In 2010 he left firm life to found Pinnacle IP Strategies, LLC and has been listed as Principal since that time.

Scioli 6s technical schooling informs the kinds of matters he takes on. His degrees in food science, human nutrition, and microbiology give him grounding when advising clients in technologies that touch biology, food, and related manufacturing processes. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and handles patent prosecution work. He is also admitted in Pennsylvania and in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he has been involved in litigation matters that arise from patent and IP disputes.

Colleagues describe him as someone who bridges the lab and the courtroom. He has served in scientific-advisor roles as well as traditional associate positions, a combination that shapes how he prepares patent applications, drafts claims, and evaluates freedom-to-operate questions. His practice often requires translating technical detail into legal positions and explaining complex science to judges, juries, or examiners.

He maintains membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and continues to participate in bar-related activities. Over the years he has moved between large firm environments and boutique practice, gaining familiarity with both clients who need broad litigation teams and those who prefer a concentrated advisory relationship.

Today he practices from Pinnacle IP Strategies, LLC in Pennsylvania. He handles patent prosecution before the USPTO and represents clients in intellectual property matters in state and federal courts, including the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. His current practice focuses on patent and intellectual property law.
