About Sarah

Sarah Gad is a Minnesota trial lawyer who combines scientific training with courtroom work. She is a founding partner of Gad & Gad Law Offices LLP and has moved steadily from technical roles into front-line criminal defense. Her path runs from chemistry labs to legal briefs.

Gad earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2009. She later turned to law, enrolling at the University of Chicago and earning a J.D. in 2020 after beginning the program in 2017. The two degrees shape how she evaluates evidence and prepares cases.

Her early legal work began in a practice known for challenging forensic conclusions. Beginning in 2015 she worked at the Law Offices of Kathleen T. Zellner & Associates as an associate and as a forensics director. There she reviewed scientific testing, evaluated laboratory procedures, and assisted in developing technical arguments for post-conviction and pretrial matters. That technical foundation informed her transition to more traditional trial roles.

In 2020 Gad took a position as an assistant lawyer at KNN Law Offices, stepping into client-facing and courtroom responsibilities. She handled arraignments, pretrial motions, and trial preparation while continuing to scrutinize forensic materials. In 2022 she and a colleague launched Gad & Gad Law Offices LLP, where she serves as a founding partner and trial attorney. Her work has involved contested hearings and jury trials in Minnesota courts.

Gad holds recognition from peer organizations. She is listed among the Top Ten Under 40 Defense Lawyers by the National Academy of Defense Lawyers and is certified as a Criminal Law Specialist by the Minnesota Society for Criminal Justice. Those distinctions reflect an emphasis on criminal defense practice and technical evidence analysis rather than awards or marketing language.

Colleagues and clients note that Gad brings a scientific lens to litigation. She often handles cases that require careful review of laboratory reports, chain-of-custody records, and expert testimony. She also handles the procedural and strategic aspects of criminal defense, from pretrial motions to trial strategy.

Gad practices in Minnesota and leads trial work at Gad & Gad Law Offices LLP. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense and forensic evidence issues in state-level matters.
