About Sandra Ellen
Sandra Ellen Malkin earned a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1998 and later completed both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Public Administration at Syracuse University in 2001. Her academic path combined legal study with public administration, equipping her to work across private and public sector matters. She returned to upstate New York after law school and began her legal career in a regional practice environment.
She joined Hinman, Howard & Kattell LLP as an associate in 2001. In that role she handled client matters, drafted pleadings and briefs, and appeared in court and administrative forums as needed. The early years of her practice were marked by steady courtroom and transactional work that tested her research and advocacy skills and built a foundation for later responsibilities.
Malkin moved to Levene Gouldin & Thompson, LLP and became a partner in 2008. In private practice she assumed greater case management duties and helped supervise more junior lawyers. Her time as partner has included client counseling, litigation oversight and coordinating multi-jurisdictional matters. Colleagues describe her as practical in the office and exacting in case preparation.
She is admitted to practice in Florida, Pennsylvania and New York. Those admissions allow her to represent clients across a regional footprint rather than confining her work to a single state. Maintaining licenses in multiple jurisdictions has shaped how she handles filings, court appearances and coordination with local counsel.
Malkin’s education at Syracuse — where she completed both a J.D. and an M.P.A. in 2001 — gave her exposure to legal theory alongside public policy and administration. The combination of degrees has informed how she evaluates regulatory questions and client strategy. Her undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton, earned in 1998, preceded her graduate work and laid the groundwork for her legal studies.
She is a partner at Levene Gouldin & Thompson, LLP and continues to practice across the three states where she is admitted. She represents clients in matters in Florida, Pennsylvania and New York.
