About Lana

Lana Sturdevant earned her Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2002 and completed her Juris Doctor at Brooklyn Law School in 2009. She followed a traditional path through law school and moved into practice soon after graduating.

She holds admissions in New York and Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. Those credentials have allowed her to appear in both state and federal forums for clients across a range of matters.

Sturdevant is part of the team at Levene Gouldin & Thompson LLP. At the firm she has worked on matters that require courtroom presence as well as case preparation and motion practice. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in approach; she emphasizes clear analysis and steady preparation when a case moves toward trial.

Her work involves regular interaction with judges, opposing counsel and clients. She spends time drafting pleadings and briefs, preparing witness testimony and managing discovery. The record in court and at the negotiating table matters as much to her as the legal arguments that support it.

Outside appearances and filings, Sturdevant has stayed current on procedural developments that affect litigation practice in both New York and Pennsylvania. She keeps an eye on decisions from state appellate courts and federal district courts that shape how cases proceed and how litigants present evidence.

She currently concentrates her practice at Levene Gouldin & Thompson LLP, representing clients in state and federal courts in New York and Pennsylvania.
