About Samantha
Samantha Plesser built an academic path that blends humanities and public policy. She earned a B.A. in literature and psychology from Brown University in 2005, graduating cum laude in both fields. She then took up legal studies at Cornell Law School, receiving her J.D. in 2009. Later she returned to the New School of Public Engagement and completed an M.S. in Management and Policy in 2015.
Her early legal experience began while she was still in law school. In 2008 she worked as a summer associate at Troutman Sanders LLP, gaining exposure to firm practice and courtroom procedures. After graduating she joined Youth Represent as an associate in 2009, where she handled cases that tested both advocacy and client counseling skills. The following year she moved to Liddle & Robinson, LLP as an associate, taking on a broader docket and more complex matters.
Plesser is admitted to practice in New York and has credentials that reach both state and federal fora. She holds admission to the New York State Bar and is admitted in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Beyond courtrooms, she participates in professional organizations that engage with legal history and disability rights through the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is also a member of the New York County Lawyers Association.
Her extracurricular affiliations reflect a mix of civic and cultural interests. She is listed among the New York Public Library Young Lions, and she maintains memberships in the Theatre Development Association. She also appears on membership rolls for Net Impact’s professional development chapter and the Norwood Club. Those involvements suggest a practitioner who balances legal work with community and cultural engagement.
Colleagues describe Plesser as methodical in her approach to casework and careful in her legal writing. Her trajectory—humanities undergraduate work, a traditional law school education, followed by graduate study in management and policy—gives her a cross-disciplinary perspective. That background informs how she frames issues for clients and for courts.
She keeps an office connected to the Milano School and remains active in the New York legal community. She currently practices law in New York, handling matters in both state and federal courts.
