About Samantha E.
Samantha E. Hirtler built her legal foundation in the Northeast. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University in 2010 and completed her J.D. at Vermont Law School in 2013. Those years shaped her understanding of law and policy and set the stage for her entry into practice.
After graduating from Vermont Law School, Hirtler began working in private practice. She joined Helfand & Associates, where she has handled a range of client matters. Her early years at the firm involved drafting pleadings, preparing motions, and supporting negotiations. She learned the daily work of a lawyer—research, client communication, and courtroom preparation—by doing it.
Colleagues describe Hirtler as pragmatic and exacting in her approach to cases. She tends to break complex problems into manageable steps and to prioritize clear explanation for clients. That methodical style shows up in how she prepares for hearings and meetings. She balances attention to detail with an eye on practical outcomes.
Hirtler’s training at Vermont Law School included exposure to both litigation skills and transactional practice. Her undergraduate studies at Rutgers provided a liberal arts backdrop that informs her writing and analysis. Together, those academic experiences support the work she performs at the firm and shape how she advises those who retain her services.
At Helfand & Associates Hirtler works alongside other attorneys and staff on matters brought to the firm. Her role has involved client intake, case assessment, strategy development, and courtroom scheduling when necessary. In that environment she has continued to refine procedural practices and improve client communications.
Outside of firm work, Hirtler has maintained ties to the legal community through informal networks of former classmates and colleagues. Those connections have helped her stay current on procedural changes and local practice norms. She draws on that informal network when she needs another perspective or a technical check on an unusual issue.
She currently practices law at Helfand & Associates and handles client matters through the firm.
