About Sabina
Sabina Sawyers studied at Western Kentucky University, earning her Bachelor of Arts, and continued her legal education at the University of Kentucky College of Law where she received her J.D. Her academic path placed her in Kentucky for both undergraduate and law school, building local ties that later informed her practice.
After law school, Sawyers began her work at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers. She joined the firm in 2017 and has been practicing there since. Early on she took on the everyday tasks that form the backbone of client representation: interviewing clients, drafting pleadings, preparing discovery, and assisting on depositions. Those tasks gave her the practical grounding many new attorneys seek.
At Hughes & Coleman Sawyers represents people hurt in accidents. She handles personal injury matters, advising clients on potential claims and steering cases through negotiation and litigation. Her caseload has included the kinds of issues typically seen in injury law, and she has been involved in both settlement discussions and courtroom proceedings when cases moved to trial.
She is licensed to practice in both Tennessee and Kentucky. That licensure allows her to file cases and appear in courtrooms across state lines. It also means she must remain current on procedural differences between jurisdictions, from filing deadlines to local rules. She navigates those details as part of case management and litigation strategy.
Sawyers’s work day often shifts between the office and the courthouse. She spends time meeting clients to understand their situations, collects medical records and other evidence, and coordinates with experts when needed. In litigation phases she prepares witness examinations and submits briefs and motions. The role requires attention to deadlines and clear communication with clients about risks and realistic outcomes.
Colleagues describe her as reliable in handling the routine as well as the unexpected pressures that come with injury litigation. Outside courtroom work she maintains professional ties in the region and participates in continuing legal education to stay current on developments that affect personal injury practice.
She currently practices at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers and focuses on representing injury victims in Tennessee and Kentucky.
