About Kathryn
Kathryn Coffman built her legal foundation in Louisville, arriving at law school after completing two undergraduate degrees. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville. She went on to receive a J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University and later completed an LL.M. at the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV.
Her formal education spans both Kentucky and Nevada law schools. The combination of political science and justice administration at the undergraduate level informed her decision to pursue law. The J.D. provided the standard training in litigation and advocacy. The LL.M. added an additional year of advanced legal study, broadening her academic background.
Coffman joined Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers in 2021. She is licensed to practice in Kentucky, Tennessee and Nevada. Since joining the firm she has worked on matters that arise in states where she is admitted, handling procedural and substantive tasks that move cases toward resolution.
At Hughes & Coleman she is part of a team that manages personal injury claims. Her day-to-day responsibilities include client interviews, evaluating medical and accident records, coordinating with healthcare providers and preparing filings and discovery. She participates in settlement negotiations and assists with trial preparation when cases proceed to court.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing files and careful in managing timelines. She spends time organizing evidence and preparing witnesses. She also works with experts when technical questions about injuries or causation are central to a claim. Her work requires balancing attention to detail with the ability to explain complex information to clients.
Coffman maintains memberships in professional groups relevant to her practice. She keeps current on developments in tort law and civil procedure through continuing legal education and firm-based training. That ongoing learning supports her handling of evolving medical documentation, insurance practices and litigation processes.
She practices across multiple jurisdictions and draws on her academic and courtroom training when representing clients. Her recent years at Hughes & Coleman have centered on handling claims for people injured in accidents and on the litigation that follows. She currently represents clients in personal injury matters at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers.
