About Ashley
Ashley Lee earned her bachelor’s degrees in political science and communication studies from Western Kentucky University before heading to the University of Kentucky College of Law for her juris doctor. Her undergraduate studies combined an interest in public affairs with training in clear, persuasive communication. At law school she studied the core subjects that shape civil practice and courtroom procedure.
She began her professional legal career in 2020 when she joined Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers as an attorney. At the firm she took on a range of matters typical of a personal injury practice. Her work has included client intake, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and negotiating settlements. She has also appeared on behalf of clients in hearings and managed litigation through trial preparation.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and direct in client communication. She applies the skills she developed in law school—writing, advocacy and evidence analysis—to practical casework. That practical approach has shaped how she evaluates claims and develops legal strategies for injured clients.
Lee maintains active membership in professional organizations that serve trial attorneys and civil practitioners. She attends continuing legal education programs and participates in firm training sessions to stay current on changes to Kentucky law and practice procedures. Her peers at the firm consult her on procedural matters and case management questions.
Her role at Hughes & Coleman has involved work across the firm’s offices, serving clients around the state of Kentucky. She handles both negotiated resolutions and contested matters, depending on what each client’s case calls for. The variety of assignments at the firm has exposed her to a broad range of personal injury topics, from motor vehicle collisions to premises liability and insurance disputes.
Outside of casework she contributes to the firm’s internal processes, helping to streamline client communications and case intake. She is practical in her approach to client counseling, aiming for clear explanations about options, timelines and likely outcomes. Her courtroom experience to date has been built alongside seasoned trial lawyers at the firm.
She currently practices at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers, representing injured clients in Kentucky in personal injury matters.
