About Ryan
Ryan Newburn built a career that crosses corporate law, in-house counsel work and the energy sector. He studied both law and business at the University of Arizona, earning a J.D. and an MBA in 2007. Before that he completed three undergraduate degrees in 2003: a B.A. in Economics, a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.S. in Agriculture and Resource Economics. His academic path combined legal training with business and economic studies.
After law school he entered private practice at a national firm. He joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as an associate in 2006. That role introduced him to complex transactional matters and large-scale corporate representation. He later moved to Denver and worked as an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP beginning in 2010. In 2012 he was an associate at Beatty & Wozniak P.C., further broadening his exposure to corporate and commercial work.
Newburn also spent time as in-house counsel. In 2013 he took on responsibilities as vice president and assistant general counsel at American Midstream Partners, L.P., a company listed on the NYSE. That position placed him inside the corporate legal department of an energy company, handling contracts, regulatory issues and commercial transactions tied to midstream operations.
In the same year he established his own practice and became president of Newburn Law, P.C. The firm reflects his hybrid background: legal training from a national firm, corporate experience in-house and business education. He has handled matters that require both legal analysis and commercial judgment. Colleagues describe him as methodical and business-minded in approach.
Newburn is admitted to practice in California and Colorado. Those admissions align with the geography of his work and the firms where he has practiced. His career shows a steady progression from large-firm associate roles to in-house counsel and then to private practice leadership.
Today he leads Newburn Law, P.C. His work draws on corporate law, energy-sector transactional experience and business training. He maintains a practice that centers on corporate and energy transactional matters.
