About Thomas L.
Thomas L. Dyer earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2016 after completing a bachelor’s degree in Business and Managerial Economics at Colorado State University in 2013. He stayed close to the Colorado legal community as he moved from classroom to courtroom. His educational path combined economic training with formal legal study, a pairing that shaped the kinds of matters he would handle early in his career.
Dyer’s résumé includes a mix of legal and nonlegal work. While in law school and soon after, he took on roles that broadened his perspective. He worked as a server at Blue Agave Grill in 2015 and contributed to USA TODAY Sports Media Group as a writer in 2017. Those experiences sit alongside traditional legal training and suggest an ability to communicate clearly across different audiences.
He began formal legal practice with positions that built a foundation in litigation and client service. In 2017 he clerked at Felser Law Office PC and later served as a legal extern for Alexius in 2018. By 2019 he was working as an antitrust lawyer at Lewis Brisbois, a role that placed him in the day-to-day work of competition law in a larger firm setting. In 2022 he returned to the University of Denver as an adjunct professor, taking on teaching responsibilities that tied back to his academic roots.
Dyer is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He holds memberships in the Colorado State Bar and the Denver Bar Association and participates in national and state antitrust groups, including the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association. Within the Colorado Bar Association he has been active in several committees and leadership tracks. He served as Co-Chair of the Antitrust Subsection in 2023 and currently holds the Vice Chair position for the Antitrust and Consumer Protection sub-section of the Business Law Section. He is also involved in the Young Lawyers Division where he serves on both the Executive Council and an Advisory Board.
Colleagues describe Dyer as methodical in his approach to competition issues and willing to both teach and learn in practice. He balances litigation work with committee service and classroom instruction. He practices antitrust law at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP and handles matters in state and federal forums. His current practice focuses on antitrust and related business litigation and counseling.
