About Robin

Robin Alexander earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2014 after completing a B.A. in Communication at the University of Washington in 2004. Her path to law was not linear. Early roles outside the legal field gave her a different view of how organizations operate.

She worked in human resources at Navarro Research & Engineering and later at the U.S. Department of Energy in 2009. In 2010 she served as a program manager for SDSE. Those positions preceded her legal training and helped shape how she evaluates workplace and administrative issues once she began practicing law.

After law school, Alexander spent time in public service as a Legal Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy in 2015. That year she also took a position at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, where she is listed as a partner. In 2016 she returned to the University of Denver as an adjunct professor, teaching antitrust law to law students. Her academic work overlapped with practice and offered students exposure to both classroom doctrine and how antitrust questions arise in agency settings.

Her career has moved between government and private practice. In 2023 she joined the Colorado Department of Law as Assistant Lawyer General in the Antitrust unit. That role put her squarely in government enforcement and counseling on competition matters. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and the District of Columbia.

Alexander’s experience spans regulatory work, litigation and classroom instruction. At the Department of Energy she encountered energy policy and procurement issues that often intersect with competition law. At Lewis Brisbois she handled civil matters that required coordinating teams and responding to complex factual records. Her human resources background informs how she approaches client teams and the personnel aspects of disputes.

Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She breaks complex statutes and regulations into practical steps. In class she emphasized the policy trade-offs that underlie antitrust rules. In government she has worked on investigations, enforcement decisions and advice to state actors.

She continues to divide her time between public service and legal education. Her current practice is based at the Colorado Department of Law, where she works on antitrust enforcement and related competition matters.
