About Roger A.

Roger A. Kraft has a career that moves between courtrooms and conference rooms. He attended the University of Idaho College of Law and built a practice that touches state and federal matters. His work has included time on the bench, courtroom advocacy and presentations to professional peers.

After law school Kraft handled cases across a range of matters before taking on a judicial role in Salt Lake City. In 2012 he served as a Small Claims Judge at the Salt Lake City Justice Court. That experience gave him a ground-level view of how disputes resolve when parties come before the court with limited resources and simple claims. It also shaped how he approaches client matters where clarity and procedure matter as much as legal theory.

Kraft holds a Judge Pro Tem certification from the Utah Supreme Court. That credential allows him to take on temporary judicial duties when appointed. The certification complements his outside practice and signals familiarity with courtroom management, evidentiary rules and the practical demands of adjudication.

Professional associations have been part of Kraft’s career for more than two decades. He has been a member of the Utah Bankruptcy Forum since 2003 and remains active there. He joined the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers the same year. He is also a member and presenter with the Utah Bankruptcy Bar, a role that has him speaking to colleagues about developments in bankruptcy practice and procedure. Those memberships indicate steady involvement in both bankruptcy and criminal defense communities.

Kraft is admitted to practice in Utah and before the Federal Circuit and the 10th Circuit. Those admissions mean he can pursue matters at the appellate level in federal courts as well as handle state-court litigation. His courtroom background and appellate admissions allow him to move cases through different phases when appeals or federal issues arise.

He practices from Roger A. Kraft Lawyer at Law, P.C., where his work reflects prior judicial experience and long-standing ties to bankruptcy and criminal defense circles. He combines courtroom experience, temporary judicial service and continuing professional engagement in his current practice. He practices bankruptcy and criminal defense in Utah and in federal courts.
