Robert Harris is a founding partner at Harris Guidi Rosner, P.A., a law firm located at 1837 Hendricks Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida. He has been practicing law in Florida since 1975, specializing in personal injury and criminal law. The firm handles cases involving car accidents, construction accidents, motorcycle accidents, premises liability, truck accidents, wrongful death, criminal appeals, drug crimes, expungement, fraud, gun crimes, internet crimes, sex crimes, theft, and violent crimes. Born in Jacksonville on August 9, 1951, Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida in 1973. He continued his education at the University of Florida College of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1975.
During his time at the university, he was active in organizations such as Florida Blue Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi. After law school, Robert returned to Jacksonville and began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, working under Ed Austin. He served in this role for three and a half years before transitioning to general litigation, where he practiced for seven years. In 1986, he co-founded Harris Guidi Rosner, P.A., where he currently serves as managing partner. In addition to his legal practice, Robert has been involved in various professional and community activities.
He served as the Vice Chairman of the Criminal Law Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association from 1988 to 1990. He also chaired the Grievance Committee A of The Florida Bar during the same period and was a member of the Judicial Nominating Procedures Committee from 1989 to 1991. In 2003, he became a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court — Robert's commitment to public service is evident through his leadership roles. He was appointed by two separate governors as the chairman of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and currently serves as a member. His community involvement includes positions such as Chairman of the Jacksonville Electric Authority from 1997 to 1999 and President of the Rotary Club of South Jacksonville from 2008 to 2009.
Throughout his career, Robert has received several honors and recognitions. He was named Lawyer of the Year by the Financial News and Daily Record in 2000. He has also been recognized by the Jacksonville Women Lawyers for his support of gender equality in the legal community during the 2020-2021 period.
