About Robert
Robert Finlay earned his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2009 after completing his law studies beginning in 2007. He went on to establish a private practice the following year. His early academic record set the stage for a career that blends private practice with involvement in professional and community organizations.
Finlay launched Finlay Legal Services in 2010 and serves as owner and lawyer at the firm. He built the practice from a small office into a local presence based in Taunton. Over time he has managed the day-to-day responsibilities of running a firm while handling client matters and overseeing administrative and business operations.
He is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Texas. Since 2010 he has held membership in the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. In 2014 he added memberships in several bar associations, including the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the Bristol County Bar Association, and the Texas Bar Association. Those memberships indicate steady engagement with professional colleagues across two states and with local legal communities.
Outside the bar, Finlay has maintained a long-standing role in civic life. He has been active with the Freemasons’ Consolidated Lodge and since 2012 has chaired its Scholarship Committee. That position places him at the intersection of legal practice and community philanthropy, organizing support for educational initiatives and working with lodge volunteers.
Colleagues describe his approach as practical and centered on the needs of the client rather than on technical showmanship. He has overseen the operations of a small firm for more than a decade, handling the responsibilities owners typically confront: client intake, case management, and the business side of running a law office. His involvement with multiple bar organizations also suggests ongoing attention to professional standards and peer networks.
Finlay maintains an office in Taunton where he represents clients under his firm’s banner. He continues to balance practice management with professional association work and community service. He currently practices from his Taunton office and focuses on serving clients in Massachusetts and Texas.
