About Alexander

Alexander Nesson earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 1994. He attended law school in the early 1990s and completed his degree as he prepared to enter public service. The George Washington credential sits at the start of a career that has threaded through prosecutorial work, courtroom support roles, and teaching.

Early in his career he held positions that put him inside criminal justice institutions. In 1993 he worked as a felony trial law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office. That same year he served under a SJC 3:03 appointment as a prosecutor in the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. Those roles gave him direct exposure to felony practice and trial preparation at both federal and state levels.

In 1994 he moved into community work as peer mediation coordinator for Community Care Services. He spent time on the ground, organizing mediation programs that aimed to resolve disputes before they escalated. The role was different from his courtroom work, but it reflected an interest in practical dispute resolution and community-based approaches to conflict.

By 1999 he had added teaching to his list of activities. He served as an adjunct professor at Salve Regina University. In that capacity he taught students while continuing to engage in legal practice. The course work and classroom time allowed him to translate courtroom experience into lessons for aspiring professionals.

Nesson is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. His résumé covers a span of roles rather than a single institutional path. He has moved between prosecution, community dispute programs, and legal education. Each stop on that path brought a different perspective on how the law functions in courtrooms and communities.

Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in the courtroom. He has handled functions that require detailed factual work and clear legal writing. His background in felony trial work and prosecutorial appointments informs how he approaches evidence, witness preparation, and trial strategy.

As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Massachusetts, handling matters that draw on his trial and prosecutorial experience.
