About Richard H
Richard H Fair built a steady path from the classroom to the courthouse. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Baylor University before earning a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law. That academic foundation underpins both his legal practice and his work as an instructor.
Fair established the Law Office of Richard Fair in 2016 and has practiced through that office since then. He has handled matters typical of a solo and small-firm practice, advising individuals and businesses on legal questions and representing clients in transactional and contested matters. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and manages the administrative responsibilities that come with running a small firm.
Teaching has been a parallel track in Fair’s career. In 2021 he served as an adjunct instructor of Business Law at McLennan Community College. More recently, in 2023, he taught Business Law as an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas. Students described his courses as focused on practical applications of business statutes and contracts. Those classroom experiences have reinforced his familiarity with commercial law concepts and the realities faced by local business owners.
Colleagues and former students say Fair brings a practical, plainspoken approach to legal issues. He tends to favor clear explanations over legalese. That style fits both courtroom settings and classroom lectures. Running a solo office has also required him to handle client communications, case management and the business side of practice. He has carried those responsibilities since founding his firm.
Outside of the office and classroom, Fair’s work follows a straightforward pattern: advise, document, and litigate when necessary. He has kept his practice geographically centered in Texas, where he maintains professional and community connections built over years of local practice and teaching. He continues to balance client work and occasional academic appointments in business law. His current practice focuses on business and related legal matters.
