About Paul Joseph
Paul Joseph Bender built his legal foundation on two complementary fields: finance and business law. He earned a B.S. in Finance from LaSalle University in 2004. He followed that with a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2007, where he studied business transactions. Those years shaped an approach that blends financial clarity with practical transactional judgment.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and has worked in matters that cross state lines. Early in his career he handled transactional work and contract matters that required coordinating clients, opposing counsel and outside advisors. He moved between negotiation tables and drafting sessions, learning how precise language can prevent disputes as effectively as any settlement.
Bender practices at Benner, Trovato & Bender. His work draws on both his finance training and his transactional law studies. He regularly prepares and reviews commercial contracts, advises on corporate governance questions and assists clients in structuring business deals. He also consults on compliance issues where state rules affect everyday operations of small and mid-sized companies.
Clients describe him as methodical in his approach. He breaks complex problems into discrete steps. That makes financial aspects easier to explain. It makes risks easier to manage. He aims for clear agreements rather than ambiguous drafts that invite disagreement.
Much of his practice involves serving privately held businesses, entrepreneurs and professional practices. He helps business owners understand the trade-offs inherent in different deal structures. He also works with individuals who need practical counsel on contracts or who face disputes that spring from unclear terms. In those situations he pursues resolutions through careful negotiation and, when necessary, firm advocacy in front of tribunals and administrative bodies.
Outside of case files, Bender stays current on developments in corporate and commercial law that affect day-to-day business operations. He draws on that knowledge when counseling clients about risk allocation, contract language and governance policies. His background in finance helps him translate legal issues into financial consequences that clients can use in decision-making.
He currently practices at Benner, Trovato & Bender, handling corporate and commercial matters across New Jersey and Pennsylvania and advising clients on transactional, contract and compliance issues as part of his ongoing practice focus.
