About Pat
Pat Walsh built his legal foundation across two Midwestern campuses. He completed undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University and earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1998. Those years shaped his understanding of courtroom procedure and the practical demands of trial work.
Soon after law school, Walsh began practicing law at Donahue & Walsh, P.C., joining the firm in 1998. He spent decades learning the rhythms of litigation and client advocacy there. His early years in practice were marked by steady courtroom exposure and a steady accumulation of trial experience.
Over time Walsh added technical credentials to his practical training. He holds a certification from NHTSA in the administration of field sobriety tests. That credential underpins his handling of cases where the accuracy of road‑side testing and the proper procedures used by law enforcement become central issues. He has combined courtroom experience and technical training to examine evidence and testimony closely.
Walsh maintains active membership in professional associations. He attends continuing education and regularly updates his knowledge of state law and procedural developments. Colleagues describe him as exacting about the details in a file and practical in court preparation. He approaches each case by assessing the record and identifying which factual and procedural points matter most to jurors or judges. His courtroom style is straightforward. He prefers direct questions and clear arguments over theatrical flourishes.
In 2024 he took a new step in his career by joining Nold & Walsh, LLC as a lawyer. The move brought him into a smaller firm environment where collaboration and hands‑on casework are daily practice. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and has continued to apply his NHTSA training in matters that involve impaired‑driving allegations. He now practices at Nold & Walsh, LLC, where his work centers on criminal defense and impaired‑driving matters.
