Todd Andrew Benison earned his law degree from The John Marshall Law School. He completed the J.D. program there and entered the Illinois legal community. School days included the usual mix of classroom study and moot court; those experiences shaped how he approaches legal work.

He is admitted to practice in Illinois and has built a practice rooted in local law. Early in his career he moved into private practice and eventually took on leadership responsibilities. Today he serves as principal of Benison Law, where he manages both client matters and the daily operations of the firm. He balances casework with administrative duties and handles intake, strategy and representation.

Benison maintains current memberships in professional associations. He takes part in continuing legal education and professional activities that keep him engaged with changes in Illinois law. Those contacts and courses inform how he advises clients and how he runs his office.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and methodical. He aims to give clear options and realistic assessments. He prepares for hearings, drafts necessary documents and consults with clients about next steps. He places emphasis on timely communication and on making legal processes understandable for people who do not practice law.

As principal of Benison Law, he oversees the firm’s legal work and client service in Illinois. He practices law in state courts and handles matters that arise for local individuals and businesses.
