About Ms. Victoria Valencia
Ms. Victoria Valencia Washington earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2013 after completing a bachelor’s degree in English and pre-law at Tougaloo College in 2008. Her academic path combined a liberal arts grounding with professional legal training. While at the University of Mississippi she later completed a criminal law certification through the law school.
She began her legal career in the state judiciary. In 2014 she served as a judicial law clerk for the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court District. That experience gave her exposure to courtroom procedure and the daily work of judges and staff. In 2015 she joined Perry Griffin, P.C. as an associate lawyer, where she handled a range of tasks for the firm’s clients.
In 2018 Washington opened The Washington Law Office, PLLC. That same year she took on parent defender work in DeSoto County Youth Courts. In 2019 she served as a parent defender in Greenville Youth Court, and she was named a Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panelist for the Northern District federal courts. In 2020 she added part-time work as a public defender in DeSoto County Circuit Courts. These roles reflect steady involvement in both federal and state criminal and juvenile matters.
Her professional affiliations run broad. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, the National Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National College for DUI Defense, the Mississippi Public Defenders Association, the American Bar Association, and the Magnolia Bar Association. She has participated on the University of Mississippi School of Law’s Diversity Committee and on the Women in the Profession Committee of the Mississippi Bar. She has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 2006 and served as president of the Northwest Mississippi Young Lawyers Division from 2019 to 2021. She is also listed as associated with the Academy of Truck Accident Association beginning in 2018.
Washington’s practice has involved criminal defense, juvenile advocacy, parent representation in youth court matters, and federal appointment work. Her career mixes courtroom work, client representation, and community involvement. She operates out of The Washington Law Office, PLLC, where she handles criminal defense, juvenile representation, and related civil matters in Mississippi.
