About Ms. Colleen Marea

Ms. Colleen Marea Quinn earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from the College of William and Mary in 1981. She continued her studies at the University of Virginia School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1985. Those two institutions shaped her legal foundation and informed the directions her career would take.

Her early career included a leadership role in private practice. In 1996 she became an equity owner, shareholder and director at Cantor Arkema, a firm that has since become defunct. That experience placed her in firm management and in client-facing litigation work. A little over a decade later she shifted toward building practices under her own name.

In 2009 she opened several ventures under the Quinn Law Centers umbrella. She is listed as owner and director of Quinn Law Centers, Locke & Quinn, the Adoption & Surrogacy Law Center at Quinn Law Centers, and the Women’s Injury Law Center at Quinn Law Centers. Those entities reflect an effort to organize practice areas into discrete units while maintaining a central office structure.

She is admitted to practice in Virginia. The Virginia State Bar also certifies her as a Guardian ad Litem, a credential that signals experience in representing the interests of children and incapacitated adults in court appointments. That certification intersects with her adoption and surrogacy work, where the welfare of children and the clarity of parental rights are central issues.

Quinn’s portfolio includes family-related matters alongside personal injury work for women. Her adoption and surrogacy practice covers procedural and courtroom tasks that frequently require coordination with social services, medical providers and family law courts. The women’s injury practice handles claims arising from accidents and incidents that result in physical harm, while guardianship appointments draw on her GAL certification and courtroom experience.

Throughout her career she has combined practice management and client representation. Her business roles — from shareholder at Cantor Arkema to owner and director of her own centers — reflect sustained involvement in how firms operate as well as in how cases proceed. She maintains an office under the Locke & Quinn name and remains an active practitioner in Virginia. Her current practice focuses on adoption and surrogacy matters, women’s injury cases and guardianship work.
