About Mr. Skyler
Mr. Skyler Anderson earned his law degree from The University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2007 after completing an undergraduate degree in Spanish at Brigham Young University in 2005. He has formal language credentials in Spanish, holding Advanced High ratings in both written and oral proficiency from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. His education laid the groundwork for a practice that often intersects with immigration matters and cross-cultural representation.
Anderson began his legal career inside the immigration system. In 2008 he worked as a court clerk for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, gaining direct exposure to immigration court procedures. He moved into private practice the following year, joining the firm of Dorany Rodriguez-Baltazar, PLLC as a lawyer in 2009. Those early years combined courtroom experience and client work, sharpening his understanding of how cases progress at both administrative and tactical levels.
He continued in private practice with Ishola-Tarin, PLLC in 2013. A year later he became a partner at Immigrant Defenders Law Group, PLLC, taking on broader responsibilities that included case strategy and firm management. In 2016 he joined ANDERSON & BENSON, PLLC as a partner and lawyer. Over that span he handled removal defense, humanitarian relief petitions, and other immigration-related matters for individuals and families.
Anderson has been active in the local chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He served as New Members Division Liaison from 2010 to 2011, then as Treasurer from 2012 to 2013, Vice Chair from 2013 to 2014, and Chapter Chair from 2014 to 2015. Those roles involved organizing meetings, coordinating membership outreach, and helping shape continuing legal education in the Utah immigration bar.
He is licensed to represent clients in Utah and litigate federal immigration matters across all 50 states, handling matters before federal immigration authorities and immigration courts. His Spanish language credentials support direct client interviews and document handling in Spanish. Colleagues and clients have relied on his courtroom experience and long involvement in immigrant-defense work.
He currently practices immigration law, representing clients in Utah and in federal immigration matters across all 50 states.
