About Mr. Alex
Alex Hunt began his legal path at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. in Government. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. Early academic work included a Yale & Irene Rosenberg Fellowship at the Center for Children, Law & Policy at the University of Houston Law Center in 2013, a placement that steered him toward child welfare law and policy issues.
He founded Hunt Law Office, P.L.L.C., where he serves as principal lawyer. His résumé also lists classroom work: he returned to the University of Houston Law Center as an adjunct professor in 2015 and again in 2019. Those teaching roles complemented his practice and his policy work, linking courtroom experience to the next generation of attorneys.
Mr. Hunt is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the State of Texas. He holds certification as a Child Welfare Law Specialist from the National Association of Counsel for Children. That credential reflects long-term involvement in cases and systems affecting children and families. His practice record and professional activities include participation in collaborative divorce circles and family-law oriented professional groups, which has informed his handling of cases that touch both custody disputes and child welfare proceedings.
Outside the office, his commitments have included local and statewide governance and board work. He served as president and trustee of the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District board from 2019 through 2023. He was a member of the Supreme Court of Texas Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth and Families Collaborative Council from 2018 to 2021. His community memberships run from Rotary Club of Katy, where he served between 2016 and 2024, to involvement with the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Association. He was vice president of the Katy Bar Association from 2017 to 2019, a member of the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law Inn of Court from 2017 to 2020, and served on the board of The Arc of Greater Houston from 2010 to 2016. He also served on the Gulf Coast Workforce Board in 20212022.

He maintains active membership in the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar College and the National Association of Counsel for Children. His practice currently centers on child welfare and family law matters.
