About Moisés E. Figueroa

Moisés E. Figueroa Pérez built his legal foundation in Puerto Rico. He earned a B.A. from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2008. He returned to the Universidad de Puerto Rico Escuela de Derecho for a J.D., which he completed in 2016, and later added an LL.M. from the same law school in 2021.

After law school, Figueroa Pérez moved into the appellate world. He served as a student law clerk at the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals in 2018. That early exposure to appellate procedure and legal research led to a subsequent role as a law clerk at the same court in 2020. Those years on the bench gave him hands-on experience reviewing briefs, drafting memoranda, and observing how appellate judges approach complex legal questions.

He then shifted into private practice, focusing on intellectual property and trademark matters. In 2021 he worked as a trademark lawyer for Perez-Orama & Guerrero-Calderon. The next year he joined Ydea Law Group as an intellectual property lawyer. These roles involved handling trademark filings and counseling clients on brand protection strategies under Puerto Rican law.

Figueroa Pérez is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico. His background combines appellate experience with practice-level work on trademarks and IP. That mix places him at the intersection of legal research and client-facing practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his approach to filings and attentive to the procedural demands of trademark prosecution.

He keeps his work local. Puerto Rico remains the jurisdiction where he builds his practice and represents clients. His education in Puerto Rico and his work at the territorial court of appeals inform how he assesses legal risk for businesses and individual rights holders.

Outside the courtroom and office, Figueroa Pérez's path reflects continuity: the same law school for both his J.D. and LL.M., followed by steady progression from clerkships to private practice. That trajectory produced a lawyer versed in appellate drafting and the technical aspects of intellectual property. He currently concentrates on intellectual property and trademark matters at Ydea Law Group.
