About Mr. Chip
Mr. Chip Muller took a nontraditional path to the law. He spent the early part of his academic life studying religion and the human mind, earning a B.A. in Religion from Middlebury College in 1990 and an M.A. in the Psychology of Religion from Boston University in 1995. He returned to school a decade later and completed his law degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2004.
Those earlier studies inform the way he approaches clients and cases. He is attentive to context and how people think under pressure. The transition from humanities to law gave him a broad view of public and private life. It also set the stage for a legal career that moves across state lines.
After law school, Muller entered practice in New England. In 2007 he joined Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, LLP as a lawyer. His time there exposed him to firm-based practice and the operational demands of representing clients in multiple forums. He later founded Muller Law and now serves as its principal. He runs a small practice that handles matters arising in the three states where he is licensed.
Muller is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He maintains an office in the Packet Building. Colleagues describe him as methodical and direct; clients say he listens. That mix of traits reflects both his graduate training in psychology and the practicalities of legal work.
Over the years he has balanced firm experience with solo practice. Running his own practice has required attention to both law and management. He handles intake, case planning and the administrative side of the practice. He also supervises support staff and sets office procedures from that Packet Building location.
Those who work with him can expect a lawyer who blends an academic background in religion and psychology with practical legal training. His practice operates across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, where he accepts matters that arise within those state jurisdictions. His current practice concentrates on legal work across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
