About Michelle

Michelle Fioravanti studied English and philosophy at Villanova University, earning her B.A. in 1985. She stayed at Villanova for law school and received her J.D. in 1989. Those years set the tone for a career that moves easily between courtrooms, administrative offices and arbitration panels.

Her first job after law school was as an assistant district lawyer in Philadelphia beginning in 1989. The work was fast and practical. She handled courtroom matters early in her career and learned to manage a heavy docket while representing the public interest.

In 1994 she joined Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen as a litigation associate. There she worked on civil litigation matters and gained experience in trial preparation, motions practice and discovery. The role broadened her exposure to complex disputes and taught her how to coordinate with clients and co-counsel on multi-layered cases.

Two years later she moved into government service as a PennDOT lawyer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Office of General Counsel. That position put her in the center of transportation-related regulatory and legal questions. She handled issues that combined administrative law and on-the-ground infrastructure concerns, and she worked with engineers and agency officials as well as outside counsel.

Eventually she opened her own practice, the Law Offices of Michelle A. Fioravanti, P.C. She has since served as a lawyer there while also accepting appointments as a certified arbitrator. Her arbitration certifications cover the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and several counties including Chester, Philadelphia and Montgomery. She remains a current member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She prepares cases for trial but also evaluates whether arbitration or negotiated resolution better serves a client’s interests. Her background in both public service and private litigation gives her perspective on regulatory matters and civil disputes. She has handled courtroom appearances, administrative hearings and arbitration panels during a career that spans decades.

She continues to practice from the Law Offices of Michelle A. Fioravanti, P.C., where she focuses on civil litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters, including cases that involve transportation issues.
