About Michael T

Michael T Murphy trained as a lawyer in Florida and began his legal education at Florida State University, where he earned a B.S. in criminology. He went on to obtain his J.D. from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2001. Those years set the stage for a career that moved between public service and private practice.

Right after law school he joined the 12th Judicial Circuit in Sarasota as an Assistant State Lawyer. That early role placed him inside the circuit court system of the region and introduced him to courtroom procedures and case management at the trial level. He spent his first years after graduation handling responsibilities typical of a prosecutor’s office and gaining experience in front of judges and juries.

A decade later he shifted into private practice. In 2011 he became a lawyer at Mallard Law Office. That move expanded the scope of his work and brought him into an office environment where he represents individual clients and handles litigation matters. The transition from a public office to a private firm has given him exposure to different sides of the legal process.

Murphy maintains active ties to the professional community. He is a current member of the Florida Justice Association, and he holds memberships in the Manatee County Bar Association and the Sarasota County Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to local legal developments and to colleagues across the region.

Throughout his career he has combined courtroom experience from his years with the 12th Judicial Circuit and the casework typical of firm practice. He has worked on matters that require litigation skills, client counseling and procedural knowledge of Florida courts. Colleagues and peers know him for steady courtroom presence and practical handling of files. He prefers clear preparation and straightforward presentations in court.

Outside the courtroom, he has continued to work in the community where he practices. He lives and works in the same region where he started his career, which has given him continuity in local legal networks and familiarity with area judges and procedures. He remains based at Mallard Law Office and represents clients across Florida. He currently practices at Mallard Law Office, handling matters on behalf of clients in Florida.
