About Michael P. Foley
Michael P. Foley Jr. earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1979 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Connecticut in 1976. He entered the legal profession at a time when the state's courts were adapting to new procedural trends. Those formative years shaped how he approached litigation and client work.
He began his practice in 1980 at the Law Offices of Brian Gildea. That first role placed him in day-to-day client matters and courtroom proceedings early on. In 1984 he moved to Blazzard, Grodd & Hasenauer, where he spent several years handling a mix of contested matters and pretrial work. The pattern of steady courtroom involvement continued through both stages of his early career.
In 1993 he established his own firm, Michael P. Foley, Jr., PC. Running a small, independent office forced him to balance casework with the administrative side of practice. Over time the firm developed a local reputation for taking cases to trial when that was necessary. Foley has remained in private practice since forming the firm and has maintained a steady presence in Connecticut courts.
Membership in professional associations has been a constant thread. He holds current memberships in the New Haven County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. He is also a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, an affiliation that aligns with his long record of courtroom practice. These memberships have connected him to peers across the state and provided continuing legal education opportunities.
Colleagues describe Foley as a lawyer who has built a career on handling contested matters and engaging in courtroom advocacy. He has adapted to changes in civil procedure and courtroom practice over several decades. His work has kept him rooted in Connecticut law, and he continues to appear in local courts.
Outside the courtroom he has managed the daily demands of a small firm. That has included supervising case intake, client communication, and the practical logistics that keep a practice running. Those tasks are as much a part of his routine as preparing for trial.
After more than four decades in practice, Foley remains based in Connecticut. His current practice focuses on litigation in Connecticut courts.
