About Karen J.S.
Karen J.S. Gallagher earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1988. She went to law school after undergraduate studies and finished at a time when many young lawyers were entering practice in a changing legal landscape. Her education at UConn provided the foundation for a long career in Connecticut law.
After graduating in 1988, Gallagher moved into practice in Connecticut. Over the decades she has worked on matters that arise under state law and has built a practice anchored in Connecticut courts and administrative forums. The span of her career reflects steady work in the state rather than frequent moves between jurisdictions.
Gallagher is a member of Ouellette, Deganis, Gallagher & Grippe, LLC. At the firm she works alongside colleagues on the variety of matters that come to the office. Her role at the firm is shaped by years of practicing in Connecticut and by familiarity with local procedures and expectations.
Admitted to practice in Connecticut, Gallagher handles cases and legal matters within the state’s jurisdiction. She appears in state courts and before relevant agencies when client matters require it. Her day-to-day work involves counseling clients, preparing filings, and representing interests in hearings and settlements when appropriate.
Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in handling legal problems and attentive to the details that matter in courtroom filings. She pays attention to changes in Connecticut statutes and case law, and she adjusts strategies as those developments occur. That approach helps clients make practical decisions about whether to litigate, negotiate, or pursue alternative resolutions.
Outside of specific case work, Gallagher has maintained a practice that balances litigation tasks with client counseling. She has navigated the procedural demands of trial preparation and the negotiation that often precedes or follows court action. The rhythm of her work reflects the steady pace of an experienced state practitioner.
She currently practices at Ouellette, Deganis, Gallagher & Grippe, LLC, where her work focuses on serving clients in Connecticut through representation in state matters and related legal work.
