About Matthew Sylvan
Matthew Sylvan Greenstein trained at Hamline University School of Law, where he completed his legal education before entering private practice. His law school years included study of core litigation and transactional subjects, and they set the stage for a career spent building a small firm. He carries that classroom grounding into the day-to-day work of running a practice.
He is a founding partner of Greenstein Sellers PLLC. As a founding partner he helped launch the firm and remains involved in its management. Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers clear thinking and deliberate decisions. He has overseen growth and staffing, and he handles the kinds of matters that reach the firm’s desk.
Greenstein maintains a suite of professional memberships. He is a current member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He also belongs to the American Bar Association and the Richard T. Oakes American Inn of Court. His associations extend beyond bar groups to include industry and networking organizations such as the Minnesota Multi Housing Association, CIC Midwest, and the Cardozo Society.
Those memberships give him regular contact with peers across practice areas and jurisdictions. He attends meetings, takes part in discussions and draws on that network when the firm is crafting legal strategies. His involvement in the Richard T. Oakes Inn of Court, for example, connects him with judges and private practitioners who emphasize professional standards and practical skills.
In the office Greenstein splits his time between client work and firm responsibilities. He helps shape how the firm approaches cases and how it serves clients. Staff and clients rely on him for decisions about case handling, staffing and firm processes. He also participates in the business side of running a law practice, including client intake and organizational planning.
Outside the office he keeps contacts across Minnesota’s legal community. Memberships in county and state bar organizations keep him plugged into local developments. Industry groups broaden the firm’s perspective on subject matters that matter to its clients.
He practices at Greenstein Sellers PLLC in Minnesota. His current practice centers on the matters handled by that firm and the services it provides to clients.
