About Matthew
Matthew Samley built his legal foundation at Millersville University of Pennsylvania and completed his law degree at Pennsylvania State University's Dickinson School of Law. He moved from classroom to courtroom and office after earning his J.D., applying the classroom lessons to real client matters. The education provided a steady base for the kinds of legal questions he would see most often.
Early in his career he handled a range of matters for individuals and small businesses. He has worked on transactional issues, basic contract matters, and the kinds of estate planning problems that come up when families seek to organize affairs. He also spent time advising business owners on governance and operational documents. His work has combined everyday legal practice with attention to procedural detail.
That practical orientation is reflected in his professional memberships. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Business Law section and belongs to the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council. Those affiliations put him in regular contact with other lawyers who deal with business transactions and estate planning. He attends local meetings and contributes to discussions on current legal developments affecting clients in the area.
Samley is active beyond the office. He serves on a local board of directors in Lancaster County, where he participates in community-level decision making. He is also a Safe Boating Instructor for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, teaching safety courses and helping prepare boaters for responsible time on the water. That role is a practical example of public outreach tied to nonlegal expertise.
Colleagues describe him as steady and matter-of-fact. He breaks complex documents into manageable parts. He prefers plain language when he explains options to clients. The combination of business law and estate planning work means he often helps clients think about long-term structure and immediate legal needs at the same time.
He continues to maintain an active role in Lancaster County professional and civic organizations while practicing law. He currently concentrates his practice on estate planning and business law.
