About Matthew

Matthew Lane earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy at Emory University before attending Northwestern University School of Law for his J.D. The study of ideas and rigorous legal training set the stage for a practice that spans both courtroom advocacy and appellate work.

Early in his career he joined Lane Law Office, P.A., the firm where he continues to practice. Over the years he has maintained active membership in The Florida Bar and taken on roles within the local bar community. He served four terms as chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Marital & Family Law Committee, a position that placed him at the center of local professional discussion about family law practice and court procedure.

Lane’s admissions reflect a broad federal and state reach. He is admitted to practice in Florida and in several federal appellate circuits, including the 2nd, 6th, 7th and 11th Circuits, and he holds admission in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Those credentials allow him to handle matters at both trial and appellate levels when cases move beyond the county courts.

Within the bar associations, Lane has been a recurring presence. His multiple terms as chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Marital & Family Law Committee indicate sustained involvement in the specialty. He also maintains an active role in The Florida Bar, where he participates as a member rather than as a manager or officer.

Clients and colleagues describe him as practical and exacting in his preparation. He combines an interest in legal theory from his academic background with a day-to-day practice that often involves contested family law matters and related filings. Given his appellate admissions, he is also positioned to advise on and pursue appeals when trial results prompt further review.

Lane Law Office, P.A. serves as the base for his practice. There he handles matters that arise in Palm Beach County and in federal courts where he is admitted. His work has involved case management, courtroom hearings and appellate briefs, depending on what each matter requires.

As of 2026 he continues to practice at Lane Law Office, P.A., maintaining active membership in The Florida Bar and ongoing participation in the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He currently focuses his practice on marital and family law matters and related appellate work.
