About Elaine Michelle
Elaine Michelle Simon trained first as an international business student and then turned to law. She earned a B.S. in International Business from Johnson & Wales University in 1996. She went on to receive a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1999 and completed an LL.M. in Health Law at Widener University Delaware School of Law in 2000. Those credentials set a practical tone for the work that followed.
Her early professional steps put her in front of clients and legal organizations. By 2001 she was the managing lawyer at a practice bearing her name. She later worked as an advocate for the Coalition for Independent Living Options in 2005, a role that involved public-facing legal work and community interaction. In 2006 she joined The Law Office of Charles D. Jamieson, P.A. as senior lawyer, where she handled matters typical of a small firm environment and advised clients through personal legal issues.
Simon maintained steady involvement in the bar and in court-backed dispute resolution programs. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2000 and has participated in the Florida Bar’s Family Law Section since 2010. The Florida Association for Women Lawyers counted her among its members beginning in 2015. The same year she became a qualified arbitrator for the Florida Supreme Court, formal recognition that complements her certification as a Family Law Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida.
Those credentials inform a practice that emphasizes mediated settlement and private dispute resolution as alternatives to protracted court battles. She often serves in roles that require neutrality and process management: mediation, arbitration and settlement negotiation. Her legal training in health law and her early background in international business provide added perspectives when cases touch on medical issues or complex financial arrangements.
Today she operates under the firm name Elaine M. Simon, P.A. Marital & Family Law and maintains an active presence in Florida’s family law community. Her work centers on marital and family law matters, including mediation and arbitration services offered through court-qualified programs.
