About Mark
Mark Stevenson earned his law degree from Regent University School of Law in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Science at Old Dominion University in 2006. He moved into practice quickly. The timing of his graduation and early memberships placed him in the legal community in the early 2010s.
He launched the Law Office of Mark Stevenson in 2013, taking on a solo practice that allowed him to build a client base and handle matters across state lines. Two years later he joined Hanger Law and became a managing lawyer there in 2015. Those roles gave him experience both running a small practice and overseeing aspects of a larger firm’s day-to-day operations. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, North Carolina and Michigan.
Stevenson has maintained steady professional involvement outside the courtroom. He joined the Virginia State Bar in 2011 and has been an active member since. He became part of the Newport News Bar Association in 2016. In the later 2010s he expanded his affiliations into groups tied to property and estate matters, joining the Virginia Peninsula Realtors Association and the Hampton Roads Realtors Association in 2018, and the Virginia Peninsula Estate Planning group in 2019. Those memberships have kept him connected to local real estate and estate planning professionals.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and straightforward in legal work. He favors clear explanations for clients and practical steps in case management. His background running his own firm early in his career informs how he approaches deadlines and client communication today. At Hanger Law he has been involved in supervising associates and coordinating cases that touch on multi-jurisdictional issues, reflecting his admissions in three states.
His association ties and career path suggest steady involvement in matters where property, planning and transactional detail intersect. That shows up in the kinds of organizations he joins and the referrals he receives from local real estate professionals and estate planners. He has balanced solo practice instincts with the administrative responsibilities of a managing lawyer.
He currently practices at Hanger Law, handling estate planning and real estate-related legal matters.
