About Mark

Mark Stevens studied political science at the University of New Hampshire and took his next step at the Massachusetts School of Law, where he earned his J.D. The educational path left him grounded in the mechanics of government and the practical skills of courtroom practice. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and holds admissions to the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Stevens began working under his own name in 2000. That year he established the Law Offices of Mark Stevens and began handling criminal matters at the trial level. Over time he added appellate work. Admission to higher courts expanded the range of cases he can argue on appeal.

His practice concentrates on criminal defense. He represents clients in state and federal matters across New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He takes on trials, argues pretrial motions, and appears at sentencing hearings. When cases move beyond trial, he has pursued appeals in both the First Circuit and in filings that reach the national level, reflecting the broader admissions on his record.

Colleagues describe his courtroom work as direct and practical. He favors clear argumentation and careful preparation. That approach shows up in the way he handles discovery, frames legal questions for judges, and prepares witnesses. He often works with local investigators and experts when cases require technical input or specialized evidence.

Stevens maintains an office associated with NH Criminal Defense and operates the Law Offices of Mark Stevens as his practice vehicle. He serves clients facing a wide range of criminal charges and meets with them at all stages of litigation. He also participates in the procedural tasks that keep a case moving: filing timely briefs, preparing evidentiary submissions, and managing appeals when appropriate.

Outside the courtroom he has remained connected to the practical side of criminal defense across two states. He adapts to changing case law and procedural rules, and he adjusts strategies as matters evolve. He continues to represent clients in both trial and appellate courts and maintains active admissions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, the First Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

His current practice focuses on criminal defense and appellate representation in state and federal courts.
