About Mariana
Mariana Goff trained first as a scientist of sorts. She earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Louisville before returning to the same city to study law at the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. The combination of science and social science shaped an early interest in evidence and how people tell their stories under pressure.
Goff began her legal career in 2008 when she joined Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers. She has remained with the firm since then, building a practice that crosses state lines. She is licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Tennessee, which allows her to represent clients in matters that often involve multi-jurisdictional issues and varying procedural rules.
Her courtroom work and case preparation are informed by an attention to detail that harks back to her undergraduate training. She has handled litigation, negotiations and discovery on behalf of people injured in accidents. Cases often require piecing together medical records, police reports and expert opinions. That is work she has spent years doing.
Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and client-centered. She meets with injured people, reviews their records and helps them understand the legal road ahead. The role requires translating medical and technical material into plain language. It also requires patience. Many of the files she takes on involve long-term consequences for clients and families, and she manages those files from the early investigative stages through settlement or trial when necessary.
Within the firm, Goff handles a range of personal injury matters. She has experience in pretrial litigation and in advocating for damages related to physical injury, lost wages and ongoing care. Her dual licensure in Kentucky and Tennessee gives her practical flexibility. It also means she must stay current on two sets of rules and case law.
Outside of court and client meetings, she works on case strategy with staff and experts. That collaboration is a regular part of how the firm organizes its files. She also reviews medical documentation and coordinates with treating providers to support claims.
Mariana Goff continues to practice at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers. She represents people injured in accidents and focuses her practice on personal injury matters in Kentucky and Tennessee.
