About Margaret D.

Margaret D. Green studied theology at the University of Notre Dame before turning to the law. Her undergraduate work gave her a habit of close reading and a steady interest in moral and ethical questions. Those interests led her to the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota School of Law, where she completed her J.D.

After law school she established her practice in Minnesota. She is licensed to practice in the state and has built a courtroom and client-side practice from that base. Colleagues note that her approach is methodical. She listens first. She then lays out options plainly.

Green’s academic background in theology is an unusual thread in a legal résumé. It shaped the way she thinks about argument and the questions she asks clients. It also informed how she prepares for hearings and negotiations. That perspective shows up in careful legal writing and in efforts to explain complex issues in ordinary language.

Her legal training at the University of St. Thomas provided the technical skills required in a wide range of matters. During those years she worked on case analysis, statutory interpretation, and appellate briefing. Those tools became part of her everyday practice once she joined the Minnesota bar and began taking cases in state courts and administrative forums.

At Donohue Green Law Office she carries a mix of responsibilities. She meets with clients, drafts pleadings, and appears in court when matters require it. The office’s name is on the door; she practices there as an attorney who handles intake, case strategy, and client communication. Her work involves juggling deadlines and responding to shifting facts. She aims to keep clients informed about developments and next steps.

Outside of her day-to-day caseload, Green has kept ties to legal education and the community through speaking and volunteer efforts. She has participated in panels and local legal events that bring practitioners together to discuss developments in Minnesota law. She is also known for taking the time to mentor junior attorneys and law students when schedules allow.

Her current practice concentrates on representing clients in Minnesota through the Donohue Green Law Office.
