Mahyad Koohanim is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2002. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Koohanim is the president of Koohanim Law Firm, a full-service law firm located in Beverly Hills, California. He has been practicing law for over 23 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and surrounding counties in Southern California.
Mr. Koohanim earned his Juris Doctor degree from Abraham Lincoln University School of Law, where he graduated in 2002. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Northridge, receiving an Associate of Arts degree in 1998. During his time at Abraham Lincoln University, he focused on developing a strong foundation in various areas of law, preparing him for a diverse legal career.
Mr. Koohanim concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury law, criminal defense, and juvenile dependency law. He represents individuals and families in matters involving car accidents, premises liability, drug crimes, theft, and juvenile court proceedings. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Koohanim has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Koohanim is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. He holds membership in the California Public Defenders Association. He is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Koohanim is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
