About Kyle
Kyle Roby earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2008 after completing a B.A. at Centre College in 2005. He moved into practice shortly after law school and has spent his career in the courts of Kentucky and Tennessee. His educational path placed him on a steady course into litigation and court work from the outset.
He was admitted to the Kentucky bar in 2008 and is also licensed in Tennessee. Over the years he has secured admission to the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Divisions of Kentucky and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Those federal admissions allow him to take cases beyond state lines and to appear in appellate proceedings when matters require it.
Roby is a partner at English Lucas Priest & Owsley, LLP. In that role he shares responsibility for managing client matters and overseeing aspects of firm litigation. Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and practical at the table. He has worked on matters that require coordination across jurisdictions, drawing on his admissions to both state and federal courts.
He maintains memberships in several bar and trial organizations. Current memberships include the American Association for Justice, the Kentucky Justice Association and the Tennessee Association for Justice. He has been a member of the Bowling Green–Warren County Bar Association since 2008 and holds memberships in the Kentucky Bar Association and the American Bar Association dating to the same year. Those affiliations keep him plugged into continuing education, local bar activity and the professional networks that shape litigation practice in the region.
Roby’s practice involves regular appearances in Kentucky and Tennessee courts and filings in federal court when cases require it. He has argued matters in district court and is admitted to argue at the appellate level before the Sixth Circuit. His work as a partner has involved guiding cases from initial pleadings through trial and, when necessary, on appeal.
Outside the courtroom he takes a methodical approach to case preparation. He emphasizes clear written work and careful scheduling to keep complex matters on track. He lives and practices in the region and draws on local experience when preparing for hearings and trials.
He now practices as a partner at English Lucas Priest & Owsley, LLP, handling litigation matters in state and federal courts across Kentucky and Tennessee.
