About Kristin
Kristin Bengfort earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Concordia University–Irvine and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, conferred in 2005. She joined the California bar in 2006 and has maintained membership through the state bar since then. Her early academic training sits alongside a practical entry into in-house legal work shortly after admission.
In 2006 Bengfort moved into corporate practice as general counsel for OC Lending, Inc. The role placed her inside a company legal department early in her career. She handled the kinds of legal issues that accompany business operations and lending activity. That in-house stretch gave her a steady foundation before she returned to roles closer to private practice and teaching.
Bengfort took on adjunct teaching duties at Mount St. Mary’s College in 2008. The classroom work ran in parallel with subsequent law practice shifts. By 2012 she was of counsel at the Law Offices of Steven G. Nordhoff, a post that transitioned into a lawyer position there in 2014. That same year she also worked at Minyard Morris LLP, expanding her exposure to law firm practice and the types of matters firms typically manage.
Her professional path continued to cross academia. In 2016 she became an adjunct professor at Trinity Law School while also entering a new chapter in private practice as a partner at Nordhoff Bengfort. The partner role formalized a long association with colleagues at the Nordhoff office and marked her move into firm leadership. Her teaching roles, separated by nearly a decade, reflect an ongoing interest in legal education alongside practice.
Across in-house, firm, and teaching positions, Bengfort has balanced client work and classroom time. She has alternated between advisory roles and courtroom- or office-based representation. Those shifts suggest a practitioner comfortable moving between transactional and firm environments.
She practices law in California and continues at Nordhoff Bengfort. She concentrates her practice on civil and business matters and remains active in the California State Bar.
