She earned her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University in Miami in 1997, where she was recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award in Civil Procedure and Professionalism. During her time at St. Thomas, Kimbley developed her litigation skills in the Immigration Clinic, where she successfully advocated for asylum clients—a formative experience that shaped her approach to law.
Admitted to the Georgia State Bar in 1998, Kimbley is also licensed to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. Since 2001, she has served as a Supervising Attorney for the Georgia Legal Services Program, specializing in family law. Her role involves guiding less experienced attorneys and ensuring that clients receive the highest quality of legal representation. This commitment to mentorship shows her dedication to the field and her clients.
In addition to her legal practice, Kimbley has made significant contributions to public service — From 2002 to 2007, she served on the Consumer Advisory Board, representing the Eighth Congressional District. Her work on the Georgia Domestic Violence Benchbook illustrates her commitment to supporting victims of domestic violence—an area that often intersects with her family law practice. Known for her empathy and professionalism, Kimbley frequently teaches seminars on various topics, including estate planning, the intersection of bankruptcy and family law, and wealth-building strategies for women. Kimbley approaches each case holistically, striving to ensure her clients emerge from challenging situations whole and ready to move forward. Her maternal instincts extend beyond her family; they reflect her deep care for her clients, many of whom depend on her for guidance during pivotal moments in their lives.
This approach has earned her a reputation for effectiveness in the courtroom and beyond. Outside of her legal practice, Kimbley enjoys cultivating meaningful relationships with family and friends through travel, dining, and social events. An avid cigar enthusiast, she actively participates in cigar events and fundraisers, further enriching her community ties. As a single mother, Kimbley raised her two sons, Xavier and Jonathan, while managing her own law firm in McDonough, Georgia. She takes immense pride in the successful men they have become, embodying the same dedication and resilience she instills in her clients.
