About Ashley Baker

Ashley Baker Osby built a steady path through legal education before settling into practice in Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University in 2000, completed her J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law in 2003, and returned to graduate study to receive an LL.M. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2015. Those credentials frame a career that spans classroom and courtroom alike.

After finishing law school in 2003, Osby began practicing in Georgia. She holds current membership in the State Bar of Georgia and has practiced under that licensing for her work in the state. Over the years she has combined courtroom work and client counseling, handling the day-to-day tasks that keep a law practice functioning: legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and preparing cases for trial when necessary.

Osby’s decision to pursue an LL.M. more than a decade after her J.D. suggests an interest in deepening her legal knowledge. The additional degree gave her time to revisit doctrinal issues and study developments in the law at an advanced level. That period of study informs how she approaches complex issues for clients, especially when cases involve layered statutory or regulatory questions.

Throughout her career she has worked on matters that require careful analysis and practical problem solving. Her work has included litigation preparation, advising clients on legal strategy, and negotiating resolutions outside the courtroom. She has maintained ties to the legal community in Georgia through bar activities and professional contacts, which she uses to stay current on changes in law and procedure.

Osby is currently an attorney at Stearns Montgomery Proctor. At the firm she serves clients on legal matters arising under Georgia law. Her present practice focuses on representing individuals and organizations in the types of disputes and regulatory matters commonly handled in state courts and administrative forums in Georgia.
