About Kevin Patrick

Kevin Patrick Seaver built a career that traces back to maritime studies and moves through two law degrees. He earned a B.A. from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1975, a J.D. from New England Law | Boston in 1987, and an LL.M. from Tulane University School of Law in 1990. Those credentials provided a foundation for practice in Massachusetts, where he has been active for decades.

After finishing graduate work, Seaver entered private practice. In 1991 he set up his own practice and has operated his office since then. Over the years he has combined courtroom work, case management and organizational leadership. His name appears on filings across juvenile and family dockets as well as other state forums where he has represented clients and pursued remedies.

Seaver’s involvement in professional organizations has been consistent and occasionally prominent. He has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 1991 and joined the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers in 1994. He served on the Boston Bar Association from 2001 until 2014 and maintained membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association through 2013. His national engagement included a brief affiliation with the American Bar Association from 2016 to 2017.

Leadership roles have been a recurring element of his career. He has chaired the Massachusetts Juvenile Bar Association since 2002 and held the chairmanship of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Juvenile and Child Welfare Section from 2006 to 2008. He also served as chairman of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind from 2008 to 2010. Those positions placed him at the intersection of advocacy, policy discussion and practitioner education on issues affecting children and families.

Colleagues describe Seaver as a practitioner who balances trial experience with organizational work. He maintains memberships that reflect both trial practice and juvenile law interests. Much of his public professional footprint centers on matters involving young people, family law questions and the systems that touch them.

Seaver continues to operate his practice from his own office in Massachusetts. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and remains active in bar and specialty sections related to juvenile and child welfare law. His current practice focuses on juvenile and family matters and related state-level proceedings.
