About Kevin D
Kevin D Kijewski pursued a varied academic path before entering the law. He earned a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University and earlier completed a Master of Education at the University of Notre Dame. He also completed a Master of Liberal Arts at Harvard University in 2025, an unusual combination that informs how he approaches legal problems today.
After law school, Kijewski began practicing in Michigan. He built his practice around courtroom work and appellate filings. Over time he established KDK Law, where he serves as a principal lawyer. The firm’s public listing connects his name to that practice and to the cases he takes on there.
Kijewski holds admissions that allow him to appear in multiple layers of the U.S. legal system. He is admitted to practice in Michigan, and he is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials mean he can take cases from state trial courts up through the federal appellate ranks when necessary.
Outside the courtroom he maintains memberships in several organizations. He is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and remains active through that affiliation. He also belongs to the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association, reflecting ties to his graduate education. In addition, he holds membership in the American Polish Cultural Center, where his involvement connects him to local cultural and civic initiatives.
Kijewski’s background in education and liberal arts shows in his work habits. He tends to prepare detailed briefs and to prioritize clear explanations when arguing complex points. Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. Clients see someone who translates technical rules into plain language and who structures arguments to fit appellate standards.
As a practitioner at KDK Law, Kijewski handles matters that move through Michigan courts and sometimes into federal appellate proceedings. He represents clients at different stages of litigation, drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and preparing appeals when cases require a higher court’s review. His current practice centers on litigation and appellate work in Michigan and federal courts.
