About Matthew
Matthew Fraiberg built his path to law on a foundation in criminal justice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in 1994 and completed his Juris Doctor at The University of Toledo College of Law in 1997. Those years shaped both his perspective and his approach to legal problems.
After law school he returned to Michigan and established himself in practice. Over time he moved into firm leadership and now serves as a partner at Fraiberg & Pernie PLLC. His role there involves managing cases, advising clients, and working with colleagues to run the firm’s daily operations.
Fraiberg is admitted to practice in Michigan. He maintains active involvement in the bar community and holds memberships in the Oakland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He appears regularly in local professional circles and attends events and meetings tied to those organizations.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and straightforward in his work. He pairs courtroom experience with research and preparation. His undergraduate studies in criminal justice inform how he thinks about procedure, evidence, and client advocacy. That background gives him a practical frame for evaluating cases and setting strategies.
Over the years he has balanced case work with the administrative demands of running a firm. He mentors younger attorneys at Fraiberg & Pernie and helps shape firm policies. The partner role also requires regular contact with clients and opposing counsel, and he spends time drafting pleadings, preparing witnesses, and negotiating resolutions when appropriate.
Outside the courtroom he keeps up with changes in state rules and continuing legal education. He uses that information to advise clients and to train staff. He also participates in bar association activities that focus on professional standards and networking within the Michigan legal community.
He lives and practices in Michigan and continues to work out of the offices of Fraiberg & Pernie PLLC. He currently concentrates his practice on client representation and firm matters at Fraiberg & Pernie PLLC in Michigan.
