About Kathryn D.
Kathryn D. Pavluchuk began her legal path at George Washington University’s Virginia campus, where she earned a B.A. in 2002. She continued her studies at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and received her J.D. in 2005. Those years of study set the stage for work in Virginia’s courts.
Her professional career started in Fairfax County, where she served as a Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Lawyer beginning in 2005. She handled courtroom responsibilities early on and worked on matters typical to local prosecutorial offices. In 2020 she took on the role of Deputy Commonwealth’s Lawyer in Prince William County. Those positions gave her sustained exposure to criminal procedure, trial practice and the day-to-day demands of public prosecution.
After nearly two decades in public service, Pavluchuk transitioned into private practice. She is of counsel at McClain Rosenthall. In that role she combines courtroom experience with advisory and consultative work for the firm. Her background in county-level prosecution informs how she approaches case assessment and courtroom preparation.
Pavluchuk maintains membership in the Virginia State Bar and practices in that jurisdiction. Her record shows steady involvement in the civic and legal life of Northern Virginia. Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom work and attentive to case detail. She has worked across a range of criminal matters, from preliminary hearings to trials.
Her education and early prosecutorial posts anchor her professional perspective. She speaks the language of courtroom procedure and evidence. That practical grounding shapes how she evaluates risk and develops strategy for clients and colleagues alike.
Today she is based at McClain Rosenthall and continues to handle matters arising from her years as a prosecutor. Her current practice concentrates on criminal law and related litigation arising in Virginia.
